Paper Black Leaf Selected Poems 1976-2004

Brian Trehearne was born in Vancouver, raised in Calgary, and moved to Montreal at fifteen. As a scholar of Canadian modernist poetry he published two major monographs, an anthology, and complete editions of A.J.M. Smith and John Glassco. After fifty years of poetry-writing his archive includes hundreds of shorter poems and the chapbook-length sequences Faith, Creation: Ode, Three Italian Odes, and Socratic Monologues. Paper Black Leaf is his first selection from that archive and includes work from his late teens to his late forties. Trehearne lives in the Mile End neighbourhood of Montreal.
